HesGoal Website Operators Being Targeted by Premier League

Operators of the HesGoal streaming website are now being targeted by the Premier League.

HesGoal is arguably one of the most popular sports streaming sites for watching live football (soccer) matches with millions of monthly visitors. Most of its user base comes from the UK.

As reported by TorrentFreak, The English Premier League is now targeting the website operators of HesGoal by pursuing legal action in the United States.

The Premier League is requesting a DMCA subpoena with hopes that Cloudflare (HesGoal CDN provider) will hand over all information regarding the site operators.

However, what’s most interesting is that the Premier League is also requesting information to identify those connected to the HesGoal website.

This information being sought after includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, and IP addresses. TorrentFreak also noted that Cloudflare has been known to hand over payment information in the past.

This is not Cloudflare’s “first rodeo” with DMCA subpoena requests. They and other CDN providers likely receive thousands of these from copyright authorities.

We have seen ACE and the MPA target streaming sites on countless occasions that will only continue.

After doing more research on HesGoal, we noticed the original domain (hesgoal.com) is still in operation.

We also found a Twitter account claiming to be the official source of HesGoal:

In the end, if the Premier League’s requests are granted by the court, it’s a matter of how useful Cloudflare’s information truly is.

Operators of pirate streaming websites are familiar with DMCA subpoenas and are known to take preventative measures to protect themselves.

Will Users of HesGoal be Contacted by Authorities?

It’s uncertain what’s happening behind the scenes with this latest targeting of HesGoal.

We’ve seen pirate website operators in the past hand over user data, streaming history, and identifying IP addresses. They’re also known to sell this sought-after information to other third parties.

It’s extremely important to only stream content not protected by copyright and protect yourself with a VPN.
