There is a new update available for the popular streaming device Chromecast with Google TV.
This is the first update to these devices since December of 2021 when we saw major improvements.
Unfortunately, the latest update does not feature the Android 12 software which many users were hoping for.
Instead, the device moves to build number QTS1.220504.008 which runs on Android 10.
You can find complete details on the release from the Chromecast Official page below.
The changelog for this update includes the following:
Platform improvements to help some apps, with HDR 4K video playing and DRM video playback
Additional bug fixes and performance improvements
Additional improvements to Wi-Fi/Bluetooth
Many Chromecast with Google TV owners “jailbreak” the device for access to tons of free content including Movies, Shows, and more.
