Just a few days ago we saw ACE shut down Afdah, and now it appears Pelisplus was next on their target list.

Pelisplushd.net is the exact domain that was seized by ACE, and this website was reportedly operated in Peru and was ranked as the second-largest pirate Spanish website.

The report from ACE noted that Pelisplus.net had over 383 million visits in the past six months and averaged 68 million visits per month.

In March 2022, Pelisplus was the 54th most visited website in Mexico outranking disneyplus.com, hbomax.com, primevideo.com, and many others.

ACE described Pelisplus as “one of the largest illegal providers of on-demand audiovisual content in the world.”

In the official press release from ACE, Executive Vice President Jan van Voorn stated the following on this shutdown:

“This is a huge win for the ACE team based in Latin America as we work to protect the legitimate digital ecosystem throughout the region. The successful action against the operator of Pelisplushd.net was only made possible because of evidence that we gathered from previous operations conducted in other countries in Latin America. This speaks volumes about ACE’s ability to crack current cases utilizing years of past gathered intelligence and highlights the global, strategic approach that determines our actions around the world.”

The press release then goes on to mention that the operators of Pelisplus could also be charged for tax evasion and money laundering crimes.

It only seems this constant game of “whack a mole” with streaming website shutdowns will continue.

After doing some further research, we found several other “mirrors” of Pelisplus.

This isn’t the first time copyright authorities have released lists of piracy websites and services on their radar.

Will Users of Pelisplus be Contacted by Authorities?

It’s uncertain what’s happening behind the scenes with this latest targeting of the Pelisplus streaming site.

We’ve seen pirate website operators in the past hand over user data, streaming history, and identifying IP addresses when investigated by copyright authorities. They’re also known to sell this sought-after information to other third parties.

It’s extremely important to only stream content not protected by copyright and protect yourself with a VPN.
