TROYPOINT Receives Letter from ACE (Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment)
TROYPOINT has received a letter from ACE (Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment) respectfully asking us to disable our Rapid App Installer and cease covering topics that pertain to 3rd party apps, add-ons, websites, services, etc., that may violate copyright laws within the United States.
ACE specifically singled out the free application Stremio in their letter and we find it odd that this same application is readily available through Google Play Store. Due to this application being available in Google Play, we figured that it was perfectly fine to be available within our Rapid App Installer.
We have always added legal disclaimers to our app and reviews that these various apps, add-ons, and streaming sites could be legally used if accessing media not protected by copyright, such as works that fall under public domain status. We still stand behind this statement.
In each of our reviews, we also point out the legal questions surrounding each application and recommend that users utilize the legal streaming applications that we then link to.

It’s impossible for TROYPOINT to determine whether these unverified applications hold the proper licensing.
If and when an application is deemed illegal, we notify our users immediately and update reports on our Website to reflect that information.
At first glance, it would appear that Cinema HD is distributing copyrighted works without consent.
You will notice in the example above that we used the free public domain movie, Night of the Living Dead as an example.
Works in the Public Domain are not protected by copyright laws and may be downloaded, streamed, and shared without any legal ramifications.
In conclusion, the end-user is responsible for all content accessed through apps such as Cinema HD.

TROYPOINT Moving Forward
TROYPOINT firmly believes it is well within the law, but simply does not have the resources or capacity to defend against a threatened copyright infringement lawsuit.
As of October 25th, 2022 the TROYPOINT App with Rapid App Installer will be shut down.
Over the coming days, we will also remove all reviews that cover third party apps, add-ons, streaming services, etc. that may be offering copyrighted media without proper consent.
Additionally, we will be deleting all topics and posts from our TROYPOINT Insider and start from scratch. Moving forward, mentioning 3rd party apps, addons, services, etc. will not be allowed.
TROYPOINT isn’t going away and will continue to provide important news, reviews, and tutorials pertaining to cord cutting and home technology. We simply won’t be covering questionable apps, services, and websites any longer.
